As a result, Qantas’s Unaccompanied Minor service provides facilities including private waiting areas for unaccompanied minors at Melbourne, Canberra, Victoria, Sydney, Perth, and Brisbane Airports.

Qantas Airlines Unaccompanied Minor Policy

On foreign flights, you also have the option of having a Qantas Customer Service Agent accompany your kid through Immigration and Customs.

Online booking is available for domestic flights and is available on some connecting Qantas flights. There is a cost of USD 75 for local flights and USD 100 for foreign flights for unaccompanied kids.

This is to pay for some of the extra services and facilities that unaccompanied kids require to have a comfortable and pleasurable flight. No one under the age of 15 is required to use these supplementary amenities if they are accompanied by an adult.

A Qantas unaccompanied minor is a youngster under the age of 12 who is flying without a parent or legal guardian.

The service cost for a kid, infant, or child traveling alone is ascertained by how many places they will visit. Qantas Minor Policy Booking Restrictions

Qantas’s online booking system, “Manage My Booking,” does not allow alone children under the age of 18 to make reservations for foreign flights. You have to book a minor service at the airport at least four hours before your flight leaves.  You must always have an adult present when booking a reservation for a child.

  • There could be an overnight layover or the final flight of the day on your itinerary.
  • Connecting flights departing from many airports within a single city.
  • There is a Qantas flight listed that will not be operated. You may only reserve seats on these flights by contacting the airline operating them directly.
  • There is no chance to go from one destination to another through connecting flight mode in less than four hours.
  • If your child has to bring medication, he or she has the following skills and knowledge:  has a letter of prescription from their doctor.

Qantas Airlines Unaccompanied Minor Policy: Important Information for Parents or Guardian

Qantas must be able to reach the child’s parents or legal guardian at all times via phone while the youngster is in their care. Additionally –

  • The airline has the right to turn over an unaccompanied youngster to the authorities if the person who is supposed to pick them up is not at the gate when they arrive.
  • Children traveling internationally without an adult must check in at the airport at least two hours before their aircraft is scheduled to depart.
  • Domestic flights within Australia must require check-in at least one hour before the departure.
  • Please say hello to one of our helpful customer care agents when you arrive at the airport. The Unaccompanied Minor form will be checked to ensure proper completion.
  • Qantas reserves the right to rebook a minor who is traveling alone without proper documentation onto the next available flight.
  • If the child does not fly on all flights, the unaccompanied minor cost is refundable.

Connecting Flight for Qantas Unaccompanied Minor

When you book a Qantas Airlines unaccompanied minor service on a connecting flight, the UNMR service team will assign and send an agent to the terminal to assist the child between gates. Keep in mind the following information when booking connecting flights.

Connecting flights for unaccompanied minors cannot have a layover of less than 4 hours. You must make your reservation through a Qantas office even if your child’s itinerary includes flights on another carrier.
